INTRODUCTION

Diploma in Financial Management and Accountability (DFMA) is a one year online course on financial management of non-profit organizations. The program is a joint initiative of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) & Financial Management Service Foundation (FMSF). The course is open to applicants from all over the world.

 

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Any individual working in the Development sector
  • A student pursuing Graduation form a recognized University/Institution
  • Individual seeking to gain knowledge about the Development Sector

Please note that basic computer skills and access to internet are pre-requisites for this course.

SELECTION PROCESS

Once we receive the online registration form, we shall guide the individuals on further procedures such as screening test which comprises of 10 multiple choice questions. The candidate will be assigned 20 minutes to complete the test.

After the completion of screening test, the candidate will be guided to submit the documents and fee.

COURSE DESIGN

  • The entire program is divided into 4 modules. Each module is further sub-divided into 8 papers.
  • The course is offered in a flexi-mode.
    • A candidate can enroll for the first semester. On completion of the first semester, he/she will be awarded a Certification degree in financial management & accountability.
    • If a candidate enrolls for two semesters and completes the same, then he/she will be awarded a Diploma degree in financial management & accountability
  • Examination will be conducted online towards the end and the exam dates for which will be shared beforehand.
 

PROJECT WORK

Each student is required to undertake a project and submit a project report. This topic will be assigned by the faculty. The project work carries 4 credits and is mandatory. Student can also take up the project in the organization where he/she is working;

In case the employing organization does not permit the same, the student can request to be assigned a voluntary organization in and around her/his place of residence/work that will be identified by the faculty in-charge.

Students are advised to start the project work as soon as the topic is assigned by the faculty and not wait for the last date of submission. The student is required to send the project report in soft version via e-mail on or before the last date for project submission. The project submission date shall be communicated to the students in advance, along with the project work topic.

The course material for each paper is available on the website www.fmsflearningsystems.org. All candidates who have enrolled for the course will have access as well as downloading rights of the course material. Hard copies of the course materials are also sent to the students.
